AccuRx – New Appointment Booking System

From Monday the 2nd February the way you access care at The Murray Surgery will change.

All care required will be requested via our new online system – AccuRx. This will include routine, same day urgent and 48 hour access appointments. Look out for the new AccuRx link from 2nd February.

Home visiting requests (only available for those who are housebound) should also be requested in this manner.

All forms will be triaged the same day and you will be allocated care that is appropriate for your medical concern. The more information provided in your request the easier it is for our GP team to ensure you receive the care you require.

We aim to have the online system open between 8-10 am. However, it will be shut off earlier if the appointment system is saturated to ensure safe patient care is maintained

Significant additional resource and staffing has been allocated to the system which should reduce the capacity issue you may have faced previously.

We do understand that many of our patients struggle with online systems and this may disproportionately affect our vulnerable patients. We encourage you to try AccuRx but if you have any difficulties please contact the surgery by telephone and our administrative staff can guide you through its use or fill the request out for you.

We would like to remind patients that our team plan the daily appointments and home visits in the morning. It is impossible for us to accommodate the volume of same day urgent care requests that currently arrive later in the day. While we understand there are circumstances where patients become unwell after 10am and will require care from our duty GP, the availability of this will be extremely limited and will be reserved for those in genuine need. You are likely to be asked to submit the request for care the following day.

We hope this change will bring about meaningful improvement for our patients but as with any change please bear with us as we work out exactly how this will work best for you all.

Summary of Changes From Monday 2nd February

  • Engage Consult App switched off and all care to be requested by clicking a link on our website – look out for the AccuRx symbol.
  • ALL care, including urgent, same-day needs and home visits, to be requested via our website – look out for the AccuRx symbol.
  • All forms to be submitted by 10am each day. Forms will be available from 8am till 10am however if the number of forms submitted exceeds our ability to deliver care it may be necessary to try again the next day.
  • Urgent care, the need for which arose AFTER 10am, can still be considered but only if the need genuinely cannot wait until the following day – the GP may decide that you need to submit a form, the next day.
  • Every form successfully submitted will be looked at the same day and a response given within 24 hours.
  • This is a new system and we seek your understanding in the first few weeks; please be gentle with the staff as everyone becomes familiar with AccuRx.
